The Importance of Being Earnest was a completely different experience from any
other play I have been a part of. The parts I had played in past in the plays were extra
rolls of parts with minimal lines. This year I had many more lines and a greater stage
presence than I had ever had before. One factor that made this play different was the
fact that we had to learn to speak with British accents. For some of the cast members
such as Jesse, switching from American English to British English was a cinch. However,
for others of us, it was quite a chore and a source of many laughs for all involved. At one
point near the start of the performances, I remember Shannon said that she would come
on stage with a passport from America and that would justify her lack of a British accent.

which the cast and crew were so close. Many times in plays there are so many individuals
that people can still hang in their cliques and never really get to know one another. The
cast and crew of this play was small and diverse which caused us to become very close. I
agree with Shannon who said, "I don't think I would have picked a better production for
my last performance here at CCC."
