Overtime
4 O alston has a fine
extracurricular activities
program. That's the reason I
came to Ralston, to watch
students succeed."
That expressed one of assistant
principal Don Fleming's lasting
impressions of Ralston High
^ School.
The administrators started
their job at 7:30 a.m. and spent
their time wrapped up in paper
work, issuing detentions, and
sometimes even dreaming up a
new bell system for our school
when the regular one failed.
This creative aspect of the
administration was revealed on
Friday Oct. 19, when the bell
system ceased functioning.
The administration used
several tactics, but the most
unusual was the last bell of the
day, when the jazz band played
the death march, a grim way to
start a weekend.
Checking it out. Principal Lon Bernth asks
library aide Joann Nelson how Ralston's
annual open house is going.
Interrupting a busy schedule to make a
phone call is superintendent of the Ral
ston school district Gerry Kleinsmith.
