Prom-ises
T he Junior-Senior Prom was
* what students looked forward
to all year. Prom for seniors meant
the end of high school; to juniors
and underclassmen it meant a
long-awaited summer.
Finding a date, getting a tux,
buying a dress, buying flowers,
renting a car, and making
reservations at a quality restaurant
were just some of the preparations
before April 24.
The dance, based on the theme
“ Open Arms," was held at the
Carter Lake Ballroom, better
known as the Warehouse. A
majority of the students being
dressed in white lent even more
elegance to the ballroom. Students
danced to the music of Mercedes
Band from 8:30-11:30, with
coronation at 10:30. Brad Johnson
and Lori Selinger were crowned
king and queen. Al Wagstaff and
Julie Grat were crowned prince
and princess.
Students made their way to
parties both before and after the
dance. Other activities after the
dance included seeing midnight
movies, going to Louisville, going
camping, and going out for
breakfast. The following Monday,
of course, all talk was centered
around how late everyone stayed
out.
Obviously having a great time are juniors
Kristi Radicia and Sonia Szelewycz, freshman
Tonya Johnson, and junior Pam Guerrero.
Music sets the mood. Mercedes Bands pro
vides good music for students enjoying the
dance.
