ommitment  and  dedication:
            C that's what it took to be a good
           gymnast,  according  to  gymnastics
           coach  Dave  Contreras.
             And  commitment  and  dedication
           were worked  on  every  day  for  two
           hours  during  the  fall  season,  which
           ended  December  6  with  both  the
           boys and girls teams finishing second
           in  districts.
              Although  neither  team  qualified
           for state, junior Larry Cahoon  quali­
           fied  in  the  floor  exercise,  high  bar,
           and long horse vault, and  junior Vic
            Berkland  qualified  in  the  high  bar.
            Juniors  Diane  Hobza,  Therese  Con­
            way,  and  Karen  Coppersmith  nar­
            rowly  missed  qualifying  by  finishing
            eighth  in  one  or  more  eyents;  the
            top  seven  were  eligible for state.
