M.B. NEWS COMPLETES THIRD YEAR
The Moses Brown News, the weekly publication of the
students of Moses Brown School, has just completed its
third year of operation. The retiring staff is: Douglas M.
Behrendt, Editor-in-Chief; Bernard V. Buonanno, Jr.,
Thomas L. Benjamin, John J. Vallone, Jr., Editors; and
Frederick N. Levinger, Business Manager.
Since its inception in 1951, when it elected John Dowl
ing its first Editor-in-Chief, the M.B. News has served an
important function in helping to further school spirit by
providing up-to-date accounts of all the School’s activities
and by presenting an accurate calendar of coming events.
In addition to the editors the staff comprises some twen
ty reporters who, each week, are assigned coverage of that
week’s events. On Sunday afternoons the articles are edited
by the editor of the week, who then turns in the com
pleted paper to Mr. Armstrong, the faculty advisor. The
paper is typed in the office Monday morning and that noon
it is mimeographed and distributed by the business staff.
Mr. Armstrong and "Ed” Behrendt
Certificates are awarded at the end of
the year to the editors, the mimeograph-
ers, and to those reporters who have reg
ularly attended meetings and written
several articles.
