Pork sandwiches, potato rounds, mixed vegetables with honey glaze,
and peanut butter cookies. These five items have been known to
send hordes of mobbing lunchtime crowds to a state of frenzy
accompanied by fits of gyration and massive salivation. Everyday at
11:29, kids from all over Ralston storm the lunchroom. People push
and shove and holler trying to get a good space in the chicken patty
on bun line. Sometimes they even commit the ultimate lunchtime
faux pax-cutting in line to get closer to chicken patty on bun.
