Ralston High.
The new assistant principal,
Martha Novak, finds her new job
exciting but very busy. One
disadvantage is the time it takes
away from her family.
“It has been quite a challenge
already, and 1 am looking forward to
the rest of the year,” said Ms.
Novak.
While coaching girls’ varsity track
and boys’ varsity football, Doug
McLaughlin feels that coaching is a
form of counseling. Getting involved
with the students is a large part of
being a counselor.
“With the extra curricular
activities that 1 coach, I get to know
both girls and boys and the way
they differ,” said Mr. McLaughlin.
The changing seasons also means
a change in work for Jan Selinger,
athletic secretary.
“I enjoy being around the staff
and especially the students. They
can really make you feel very
energetic. Ralston, for me, has been
quite satisfying!” said Ms. Selinger.
Although being an administrator,
counselor, or secretary can keep
one quite busy, the entire staff
seems to find it’s work very
rewarding.
C hecking out a lock to junior Robyn Moniger is one of
the many duties of athletic department secretary Jan
Selinger.
