summer began to

Unseasonably
warm weather
added to the sickness known as
senioritis. The last day was the seniors’
dream as red paint splattered the
rooftops. Eager to call it summer, J
other senior camped out on the school / J t
grounds complete with pillows and /
sleeping bags. Although they were r
kicked off the premises twice, the
group of determined students tried a
successful third time by making a corral
of vehicles which included a motor
home in the center.
The following week after the seniors
had graduated marked the
underclassmen’s turn for the last-days’
fever. The hallways seemed a littler
emptier without their senior peers, but
everyone got along as usual. Locker
cleaning, fine paying, and running out
those front doors were the goals that
were set and made as the spring
turned into the summer.
Prank tim e. As a part of a senior prank, red paint decorated
the skylights in the library. Since the paint was permanent, new
windows needed to be purchased at a cost that ran into the
thousands.
W ashing away. Junior Jeff Hutchens cleans the graffiti which
accumulated over the past year off his locker. Lockers had to be
spotless or else a teacher could not sign the student out.
Flipping the p latter. Senior Steve Woods plays frisbie at
Raison Park after graduation practice.
