$ $20 for a boutonniere, $15 for a
nosegay, $20 (plus mileage) to rent a
car: an expensive
evening, but well
worth it, because
it was prom night!
Saving money
was not the only
p r e p a r a t i o n ; was not the only
finding the perfect tux and matching
dress was also an important ingredient.
For the girl, getting a great tan and
getting her hair and nails done were
just a few of the major preparations.
For the guy, making reservations,
renting a car, and finding a couple to
double with were the final touches in
planning the perfect evening.
When April 25 finally did come, it
seemed there wasn’t enough time to
get everything done.
But when the guy arrived everything
was perfect, and pictures were taken.
Then they were off to Carter Lake
Ballroom, the Warehouse, to dance to
the music of Bittersweet.
Coronation was held at 10:30 and
Katie Olsen and Dan Taylor were
crowned king and queen. Dana
Davenport and Joni Rundall were
crowned prince and princess.
The dance lasted until 11:30. Then it
was off to dinner at some of Omaha’s
fine restaurants, such as Top of the
World, Cascio’s, or Mr. C’s.
After the evening was over,
everyone usually agreed that is was
well worth the money.
