ractice, practice, practice. That’s
P what you would see the flag and
drill teams doing (if you came to school as
early as seven a.m.).
Not only did these squads entertain at
half-time, they also performed in pa
rades, including the Cherry Blossom Fes
tival Parade in Washington, D.C., April 1-
4.
But these teams (twenty drill team
members and ten flag team members)
didn’t always work hard. They had their
share of parties and dances.
“Drill team is a total riot, and you get
to do a lot of fun things,” said sophomore
Patty Chaddock.
To be able to keep up your studies,
have a great social life, and be on a team
you have to work at it to get everything
synchronized.
“You have to learn to be mature and
to be able to handle responsibilities when
you’re part of any organization,” stated
senior flag team member Sue Lewis.
Looking good. Seniors Kerrin Engle, Barb Copenhaver,
and freshman Michelle Bruening pose pretty for a drill
team dance routine. Besides performing at football games,
drill team also participated in parades throughout the
state.
