                      to the Music



               If ever there was a time of trials that ended in suc­
            cess, it was with this year’s vocal music program.  With
             a Concert Choir filled with talent and experience, and
             three  other  vocal  ensembles,  namely  the  Girls’  En­
             semble, Freshman Show Choir and Varsity Show Choir,
             all  of which  exhibited  a tremendous  amount of stage
             presence and maturity, this year’s vocal music program
             will be remembered for years to come,  written     by
             Timothy Carlson


             Freshman Show Choir
             Scores: First place at Lewis Central
                    Second place at Norfolk
                    Excellent rating at Districts
             Songs: “Brotherhood of Man,”  “Suppertime”
                    “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown”
             Memorable moment: “When Jon Connealy’s dog bowl
             flew out of his hands  and flew under the curtains!”-
             Elizabeth Meyers-9
             Girls’ Ensemble
             Scores: Superior rating at Districts
             Songs: “Just One Star,”  “Listen to the Music,”
                    “It’s Raining on Prom Night”
             Memorable  moment:  “Sharing  the  Freshman  and
             Varsity’s victory celebration  on the bus back from Nor-
             folk!”-Mindy Cotner-12
             Concert Choir
             Scores: Good rating at Districts
             Songs: “Seeds,”  “Little Innocent”
                   “Evening in Transylvania”
             Memorable moment: “When Mr. Blackman accidently
             said something he shouldn’t have?!?!”-Lisa Price-11
             Varsity Show Choir
             Scores: First place in division at Lewis Central
                            First place in division at Norfolk
                    Superior rating at Districts
             Songs: “Keep it Hot,”  “Birdland”
                    “Up the Ladder to the Roof’
             Memorable moment: “When we won the Norfolk Jazz
             Festival,  defeating our arch-rival  Westside!” -Bobby
