All Shook Up Over Drama

After the winter drama season was over, the drama de
partment had accomplished a great feat. The public had a
taste of their talent and was craving more. With the spring
drama season on its way, the drama department had a
plan. Their plan was to put on the best shows that they
could with productions of “Solid Gold Cadillac,” “Alan’s
Wife” and “Grease.” The productions went off without a
hitch and the public approved. Let’s find out if the depart
          ment approved of themselves.
          “Solid Gold Cadillac”
An old lady named Laura Partridge-a retired actress-takes
over a corporation and becomes a millionaire (with a lot of
funny situations on her way up). Natalya Shannon-12
          How did the performance go?
I think it went very well. We worked together and had fun
          while working. Kim Amandus-12
          Everything went great! Jon Ross-11
How did the cast get along?
          Like family. Dan Bostwick-11
Very well. Everyone had their individual characters that
they brought out behind stage. Melanie Siedschlag-10
          Most memorable moment?
The 45-second pause I gave when I momentarily forgot
          my line. Derek Wilson-12
          “Alan’s Wife”
A young woman decides to kill her crippled baby after the
death of her husband. Dan Bostwick-11
Score you received: First at Districts and second at
          State
          How did the performance go?
The performances were amazing. It was one of the best
shows I’ve been in, and possibly the one I’m most proud of.
          Nick Ross-11
How did you feel when your score was announced?
At State I was disappointed. I felt we had done a wonder
ful job and deserved first. But we know that we did the
best we could and were satisfied with that. Kim
          Amandus-12
          Most memorable moment?
The rehearsal that Randy Naegele was appointed the “deaf
          mute.” Zac Dillon-11
Just peering out from behind the curtain to watch Natalie
perform. She gave me goose bumps every performance.
          Robin Richards-10
          “Grease”
“Grease” is basically a high school love story, complete
with cliques and peer pressure. Emily Haight-10
          How did the performance go?
Phenomenal. The best show I’ve ever been in. Kory
          Powell-10
It was incredible. I never thought that we could pull it off.
It also helped that all performances were completely sold
out with a waiting list at the door. Mindy Siedschlag-12
How did the cast get along?
Surprisingly, with the large cast, we got along really well.
From the moment we started practicing, we knew it would
take a lot of determination, patience and hard work. There
wasn’t really time to argue. Tawnya Littlejohn-9
          Famously. Mr. Morrissey-faculty
          Most memorable moment?
When Trisha Lilyhorn fell off the stage during “Summer
          Nights.” Emily Haight-10
I’ll never forget the closing day of the show. It was time
for the final bows-my last time on stage at Ralston-and
Randy Naegele gave me a big hug and said, “I’ll miss you.”
It made me realize how lucky I was to be a part of the
         Ralston drama department. Mindy Siedschlag-12
