                                                          Glee Club

T he Glee Club, now in its third year, began to function actively last fall
when Mr. Newcomb called together in Alumni Hall all boys interested
in the activity. Among the many who responded were nine former
members, around whom in the course of regular weekly meetings Mr.
Newcomb has succeeded in building the best group the School has had inter
ested in singing. In the years since its inception, interest in the Club has grown
steadily, and increasingly large numbers of boys have shown a desire to be
                            associated in it.
As there was no Inter-Preparatory School Glee Club Contest in New York
this year, the appearances of the group have been in Providence. Already the
Club has sung before the School in Alumni Hall and has given a program at
Lincoln School. Later it will be heard over the air through the courtesy
                            of WEAN.
The Club’s programs, which have been well received, have included such
numbers as "On the Road to Mandalay,” "John Peel,” "Winter Song,” and
"In the Shadow of the Elms.” The members have enjoyed working together
during the year and appreciate the value of the training they have had from
Mr. Newcomb as well as his constant interest.
