Junior Patrick Wolfe keeps score
for his bowling team.
Two dollars today doesn’t buy you very much,
two tickets to a 99 cent movie, a magazine, eight
plays of a video game, or this year, two dollars
bought a ticket to the post prom party, sponsored by
Concerned Parents of Ralston, or CPR.
Bowling was the main event for the evening,
since it was held at Brunswick Mockingbird Lanes
Bowling Alley, but there was more going on than just
bowling. There was a pool tournament, videos to
watch, and video games. Kathy Thomas, Alcohol/
Drug Specialist, said “It was an evening to stay drug
and alcohol free, and to have fun doing it.”
Thomas said about 200 tickets were sold. This
ticket entitled the holder to door prizes such as a
VCR, a television, microwave oven, t-shirts and gift
certificates. To win one of these prizes, you had to be
present, but if you left before 6:30 the next morning,
you were required to call home. Junior Patrick
Wolfe said, “My parents weren’t very upset, I told
them my date and I were going out for breakfast, and
that was fine. They knew where I was. I had a great
time while I was there,” he said.
Thomas said it was a good turn out over all. “As
long as there is an interest, we will continue to have
after dance parties, that are drug and alcohol free,”
she said.
