Ralston Park is one big traffic jam on Tuesday
and Sunday nights when the Ralston Girls’ Softball
Association Teen League is in action. Girls between
grades 7 and 12 are eligible to play. Many high
school girls play, and there are many student spec
tators in attendance.
Senior Tracy Dickman, a member of Fantastic
Lettering team has played softball since the second
grade and says the ball park is a “social place”. “I like
seeing who’s winning and loosing.”
“It’s the ‘in’ place,” said Junior Kelly Konwinski
of the Commercial Federal team.
Spectators agree the ball park is the place to be.
Junior Jason Doll said he sees about 95 percent of
the ball games. He says, “There are a lot of people
here and I can see what is going on.”
Senior Joe Mandolfo goes to the ball park to
“check out all the good looking girls.”

Christy Jones, junior on Commercial Federal,
said “You know everybody, and that makes it fun.”
Fun is the key phrase to players. “Playing to win
is too competitive, you have to have fun,” Dickman
said.
“You play to win, have fun, and socialize,” Kon
winski said.
