Alteration And Mineralization
Gold mineralization at Black Pine is similar to
oxidized Carlin-Type deposits throughout the Great
Basin:
• Hosted in Paleozoic carbonate rocks, particularly
calcareous siltstone or silty limestone
• Spatial association of gold mineralization with
brittle structures including normal faults and
breccias
4.53 g/t Au 13.2 g/t Au 4.70 g/t Au 0.99 g/t Au
• Alteration includes decalcification, silicification,
clay alteration, calcite cemented breccias and and
calcite veining (Carlin alteration)
• Gold is associated with elevated As, Sb, Tl and Hg
(Carlin fingerprint), Ba and to a lesser extent Pb
• Pervasively oxidized; gold spatially associated with
iron oxides
• Gold is primarily submicron but also present as 2-
5 micron grains
