Feature Story
15. Packsaddle Ridge Golf Club
Hole Fifteen, 215-yard par 3
One of the most stunning holes in the
Shenandoah Valley can also provoke the most
fear. Saddle up from the elevated tee and send
your shot like a Ghost Rider in the Sky.
16. Musket Ridge Golf Club
Hole Sixteen, 413-yard par 4
This spine-tingling downhill twister would make
Michael Myers feel right at home. Avoid being
distracted by the intoxicating scenery. Any lack of
concentration will be rewarded with a lethal dose
of strokes.
17. Maryland National Golf Club
Hole Seventeen, 203-yard par 3
Here you find a piece of eye candy will make
your blood curdle. Avoid going long, left, or right,
and you may be fortunate enough to escape this
ominous hole with your scorecard not chopped
up into pieces.
18. Whiskey Creek Golf Club
Hole Eighteen, 547-yard par 5
Our menacing tour de force finisher is known for
the remnants of an old farm house that remain
in the middle of the fairway. Like a Norman Bates
operated hotel, if you check in here, you will likely
get checked out.
There you have our list, but I’m sure there are many that we have missed. Feel free
to comment or make suggestions. Next season we may have a scary sequel of golf
holes spilled onto these pages (insert Vincent Price’s creepy laugh). Oh, and while we
are at it, have a Happy “It’s in the Hole-inween”!
