Mr. Selle described the curriculum and standards for STEM to be broad, open, and abundant. He

compared his time as a student and the curriculum that he remembers using to be about 70% similar to

what they are continuing to use in the classroom. With the constant changes in technology and

software, they don’t always have the resources to accommodate these changes. Mr. Selle mentioned

that they use a “sampler platter of technology”. The idea behind this sampler platter is to introduce and

expose students to various programs, software, and technology that they will use in high school. When

they are fortunate to get new software and technology in the classroom, it typically includes training for

both the teachers and the students.

Mr. Selle has become one of the teaching at Hagen that I have gotten the opportunity to get to

know on a personal level. As a new teacher, he has been a great resource for me to use when I have

questions about classroom management, schedule, or about how the way things run at Hagen. I was

thankful that I had the opportunity to sit down with him for this interview and look forward to learning

more about STEM and integrating technology in the classroom.
