The maximum energy absorption and peak force recorded by hybrid laminate
of E-glass/jute are superior in comparison with E-glass/basalt and E-glass/flax. These
can be explained by examining the nature of fractures exhibited by pure jute, J7 as
shown in Figure 4.21(a). The vertical and horizontal cracks as well as ply splitting
seem not occur at all. Contrary, pure E-glass, G7 exhibited the vertical and horizontal
cracks with fibre breakage were clearly observed from the centre point of the indentor
as shown in Figure 4.21(b).
