Talk about an Inspiring weekend! The Texas State Council held a wonderful
State Board meeting the weekend of February 9-11, 2018. The small German
heritage town of Fredericksburg was such a welcome place. It’s far out in
the Texas Hill Country, with enough Wineries to suit any taste—every day!
The shopping is incredible, and many of us also found a little-known secret--
-the talent at the Rock Box Theatre is amazing! A group called Four by Four performed a huge
medley of songs by the Beatles, the Bee Gees, the Beach Boys, and many Motown artists from
the 50’s & 60’s. They had us doing a lot of “feet tapping”.
It’s always wonderful to see so many of our lovely Texas sisters. The weather was a bit nippy, but
that didn’t keep many away. Julie Walker Leith, our Technology Chairman, demonstrated what
our new Texas website looks like. We were floored on the amount of information that is
accessible. Our IC Newsletter Editor, Lisa Zachau, continues to generously assist us in tweeking
the site, along with Webb Master, Larry Tubbs. Please check us out, at www.esatexas.org .
The 2020 IC Convention
Committee, led by past
IC President, Rose
Pasillas, and past Texas
State President, Debbi
Morris.
As my year as TESAN Editor is coming to a close in another month, I have felt completely inspired
by all the great charitable events we contribute to. What is also truly inspiring is all the true, lasting
friendships made through ESA. The leadership abilities that are demonstrated each month,
whether at the Executive Board level or within the Chapters, is just so amazing. Have you ever
tried to coordinate plans for a Board meeting, a State Convention, or now an IC Convention?
Volunteering to be a part of any position and committee helps us grow and feel “accomplished”
in all that we do. You can then more easily lead others to many fruitful successes.
