Directional Control Valve (DCV)
Directional control valve controls the flow of air signals by generating, cancelling or
redirecting signals.
The valve is described by
a. Number of ports or openings (ways): 2-way, 3-way, 4-way, etc.
b. Methods of actuation of the valve:
i. manually actuated
ii. mechanically actuated
iii. pneumatically actuated
iv. electrically actuated
c. Methods of return actuation: Spring return, air return and directional control
valves are devices which influence the path taken by an air stream. directional control valve
