night mishmar program for boys, amongst other initatives. The
mishmar is attended by boys all over the neighborhood. The
practical learning of Halacha, such as how to make tzitzis, gives
the boys a true appreciation of the Mitzvah.
Yeshiva Gedolah continues to try and find ways to add
programs and accommodate different interests in learning. The
number and level of bochrim continues to grow, as the interest
in attending the Yeshiva continues to proliferate worldwide.
The kollel continues to thrive and far more of the students
who get married are staying local and learning in the Yeshiva
or working and learning when they have opportunity in the
Yeshiva, while raising their beautiful families. As important, the
number of local residents using the Yeshiva keeps expanding.
Our minyanim have seen increases in the number of people
attending. Night seder is seeing many new faces at various
points during the week. Other programs, such as women’s
shiurim and events, as well as others have been a success. We
continue to try and think of ways that the Yeshiva can increase
harbotzas Torah within our community.
Dr. and Mrs. Justin Hirmes are a beautiful example of the
totality of the relationship between the community and Yeshiva.
Justin and his family, anchored by his aishes chayil, have chosen
to make the Yeshiva and our community home. Justin frequents
the Yeshiva for daily sedarim, Shabbos davening, always looking
to help in any way possible. Be it setting up the Kiddush, doing
the small things, or when the morning of the Chanukas Habayis
the Yeshiva had to go rent a truck due to rain, it was him
getting it done in his quiet way. Mrs. Hirmes herself is always
looking to help where possible, including with N’shei events.
Specifically, she organizes the N’shei’s tehilim group, which
