EVERY HOME IS A SCHOOL!!

For students, this time of the year used to be all about the smell of freshly printed books, new

classrooms, new teachers…. But corona virus had forced the world to reinvent and reimagining the

        usual. That’s what I did!!

Online classes have become the new normal. It was challenging for me as a teacher too like for

other corona virus warriors. With class schedule for the day arriving on whats app, and students taking

classes through the virtual world, the whole education system is now just a click away.

Most people thought that schools are closed!! And teachers are on holidays!! But …… it was not the

truth at all. According to me, “Teachers are working harder than ever before”.

When I started this online teaching, I come to know that these students holding so much inside them

due to lockdown. They want to talk to us but unfortunately we don’t have the time to for all that. That

has blocked a huge channel of communication and comfort with the new class. I have no choice

but to straight away dive into teaching, which many kids are finding hard to adjust to. Soon I

realized this gap which will be helpful to motivate children. First of all, I tried to build a strong

relation with my newly entered kids so that they will a connection with me and will eager to meet

        me through online classes.

Though, I am not the frontline corona warrior but I burnt the midnight oil to ensure that I impart

knowledge in the most effective and engaging manner. I was trying to be creative for my children.

I thought several time that what I could do to engage and motivate my students to take these online

        classes.

I did individual video calls to each and every child to know my newly entered children and also had

a conversation with parents as well. I also talked informally to build a rapport between us. This helped

me a lot to bring maximum children in my online classes. I searched different and interesting ways to

deal the new normal learning. I made interesting videos and teaching aids that can attract them

to take my online classes. Whenever a task is assigned for my class, I worked hard to motivate them

to participate enthusiastically, for example, class-wise competition, online paper, etc. My children had

never let me down. They always showed their interest in all online activities. I made my you tube

        channel.
