การนิเทศ (Supervision)

จากการเปลี่ยนแปลงอย่างรวดเร็วด้านข่าวสารข้อมูล
และเทคโนโลยีที่ก้าวหน้าของโลก ความหมายของคำว่า การนิเทศ
ในปัจจุบัน จึงมีความหมายแตกต่างจากเดิม พจนานุกรมของ
Webster (1980 : 320 , 812 , 1162 อ้างถึงใน รุ่งชัชดาพร เวหะชาติ
: 2557) ให้ความหมายว่า

Supervision คือ การแนะนำ (Direction)
การจัดการ (Management)

Supervise คือ การดู to see

Superintend คือ เอาใจใส่ หรือพิจารณา to
attend, direct, attention to

Oversee คือ การสำรวจ การมองดู
to survey, watch

คำจำกัดความ Supervision แยกเป็น Super หมายถึง
Above, Over หรือ Beyond และ Vision ซึ่งแยกมาจาก Video
(to see)

The elements of supervision are evident in
the process of overseeing or directing the work of others.
As a process, supervision is a series of decisions, actions,
and interactions directed toward overseeing the work of others.
In sum, Supervision is an integration of process, procedures
and conditions that are consciously designed to advance
