Adjusting settings and calibration
Hate having to call the PLC programmer out to site
to adjust scaling for a new sensor, or to change
the duration of a time delay? All these settings can
be set up to be infinitely adjustable by you or an
operator on the HMI.
Access control
Do you want some operators to be able to start
and stop a system, but not be able to adjust
critical settings or calibrations? HMIs can be con-
figured with several level of access, each with their
own login password. For example, you may have
an Operator login, giving basic access to start and
stop the system; an Admin login,
giving access to all process settings; and a
Service login, giving access to all settings
including sensor calibrations etc.
Alarms
HMIs can be configured to monitor any number of
alarms generated by a PLC. Active alarms can
be shown in a list, with the time and date they oc-
curred. Alarms can also be displayed in a scrolling
banner across the top of the screen. All alarms can
be logged, so it is possible to view all alarms that
have occurred in the past, along with the date/time
they occurred and we cleared.
Remote access
Couple all the features listed above with a connec-
tion to the Internet, and you can have full access to
monitor and control your system from your PC or
smartphone, even if the system is in a remote loca-
tion. You can assist onsite operators to troubleshoot
alarms and system operation. In addition, PLC and
HMI software can be updated remotely - no more
expensive site visits for small software tweaks.
