Abstract
In this experiment, researchers study about characteristics and properties of sound produced from the
bamboo tube. This experiment process by preparing bamboo tubes of different height, radius, and hole’s
position referred to the tube’s mouth. Then 10 N of force was applied on the tube’s mouth by using a
metal rod. After that, the sound was recorded and analyzed using Audacity. In the first experiment on
the relationship of sound produced and length, 15, 20, 25, 30 cm. Long tubes were invested. The result
shows that the longer the tube, the lower the frequency. In the second experiment on the hole’s position,
a hole was drilled 5, 10,15,20,25 cm away from the tube's mouth. As a result, it was revealed that:
the further the hole, the higher the frequency. In the last experiment, the radius is observed. Then we
found the bigger the tube, the lower the frequency. And control experiment by using PVC supported
the results.
