1. TECHNICAL FEATURES OF 4B1 ENGINE
1. GENERAL INFORMATION
The 4B1 series engines are adopted on OUTLANDER, ASX, LANCER-EX, and LANCER Evolution.
These are a 4-cylinder, double overhead camshaft (DOHC) engines, and are available in 2.0 Liter or
2.4 Liter cylinder displacement. These engines have the following features:
◆ The cylinder block is made of an aluminum alloy
◆ Valve train with direct-acting valve tappets
◆ Silent timing chain
◆ MIVEC (Mitsubishi Innovative Valve timing Electronic Control system) for both the intake and ex-
haust valves
