Dr Gilbert Yang’s interview for Stand for Truth show aired last October 22 centered
on the HIV prevention pill called (prEP) or the pre-exposure prophylaxis pill which
is now available in the Philippines. This pill which has been proven to prevent HIV
is recommended to be taken daily for 7 days prior to contact. It has been proven to
prevent HIV infection by more than 90 %. As a post exposure prophylactic pill it is
recommended to be taken within 72 hours from the high risk behavior. The pill is not
recommended for patients who are already HIV positive. There is hope to prevent the
spread of HIV virus thru this new innovation
