he Philippines, being
located along the
Ttyphoon belt in Asia,
is no stranger to strong
winds and heavy rains that
the wet season brings in.
During this season, the
skin is more vulnerable
to infection due to heat
and humidity that provide
an ideal environment
for the growth of some
microorganisms. To increase
awareness and further
educate the public on the
most common diseases
during the rainy season, Dr. Dr. Cricelda R. Valencia talking on Skin Diseases during rainy season in a

Valencia, was invited to
be a guest on the show
“Clinical Flavier” on TV5
hosted by Dr. Jondi Flavier
and Ms. Marga Vargas last
September 5, 2019. Diseases
such as dermatophytosis,
bacterial skin infections, and
eczema were discussed by
Dr. Rescober-Valencia. The
show, which lasted for an
hour, centered on the reason
why these skin diseases are
common during the wet
season, ways to diagnose
these diseases and how
to prevent them. Phone-
in questions were also
entertained near the end of
the program. Hopefully, the
audience was able to pick
up a thing or two from this
exchange of information.
