best diet to them, so that they can lose weight.
I am quite open-minded, having worked
overseas and travelled a lot abroad. In the past
I have collaborated with various Australian
designers.
One of my greatest achievements is that I have
had the chance to work for a 5-Star resort
called The Crown Burswood in Perth, Australia,
and had the immense privilege to work with
international stars such as Miley Cyrus and
Lady Gaga.
2. You are a very fervent supporter for
the empowerment of women. What
has motivated you to invest yourself
for such a cause and to join EFOI?
I actually had a passion for social work since I
was a teenager (in high school). In fact, I used
to work for an association called „Ecole pour la
Solidarité et la Justice‟.
This association catered for children in ghettos,
who found themselves neglected and roaming
on the streets with no shelter and who were
being rejected by society.
I have a passion to work with kids. When I was
in Australia, I did my internship in 2 schools
which were specialized for migrants, being
children coming from Iraq and Iran. I wanted to
work with them after completing my Degree in I
also joined AMFC („Association Mauricienne
des Femmes Chefs d‟ Entreprise‟) and have
been affiliation with „Women in
Networking‟ (WIN).
A decisive encounter was when I met Mrs
Ginette Villeneuve-Anaudin, the Past President
of EFOI, and she saw in me the woman who
had the necessary grit and capacity to take
over this presidency which she had assumed
for the previous 20 years or so.
The women I meet through EFOI often have a
low self-esteem of themselves.
I was pleased to have come across JCI
members in 2016 when they were doing an
interesting project in called “Developing
Entrepreneurship at Grassroots Level”.
3. The greatest challenges you
encounter on a day-to-day basis as
EFOI President.
The mentality in Mauritius. Some men find it
difficult to accept that women can also stand up
and be successful businesswomen. There is
also the fact that I work with women having
different personalities.
4. What according to you, holds women
back from advancing in their 14
professional careers?
Your worst energy is yourself – your mind.
Most people are afraid and do not have enough
self-confidence, saying to themselves that they
do not have the ability to do certain things in
life, and asking themselves so many questions.
