             6  Sociocultural rules however, would demand candidates to know how
               to use and respond to language appropriately. In this paper some
               cognitive processes required are to decode input, carry out lexical
               search, syntactic parsing, meaning construction and discourse
               construction.

             7  What these mean are candidates will need to understand what is
               being said, to understand specific words or meanings made or used
               in context, and breaking down sentences into its elements in order
               to understand a sentence.

             8  The format of the paper entails five parts; with 30 multiple-choice
               questions. Table 1 will give you a clearer picture of the paper’s
               structure as provided by the Malaysian Examination Syndicate.                              LISTENING
