1. Jane menjahit kain berbentuk segi empat tepat untuk kelas seni sekolahnya yang berukuran 16 cm lebar
dan 24 cm panjang. Kemudian, gurunya memberi kain seluas 7.56 m² lagi dan meminta Jane menambah
bingkai di sekeliling kain yang dijahit. Guru menasihatinya supaya menggunakan semua kain itu dengan
syarat, bingkai itu mestilah sama lebar pada keempat-empat sisi. Berapakah lebar bingkai yang sepatutnya

dibuat supaya dia dapat menggunakan kesemua kain itu? KBAT Menganalisis
Jane stitched a rectangular shaped fabric for her school art class which measures 16 cm wide and 24 cm long. Then, her teacher gave
her another 7.56 m² of fabric and asked her to add a frame around the stitched cloth. Her teacher advised her to use all the cloth with the
condition that, the frame must be the same width on all four sides. How wide should she make the frame to use all the cloth?

Katakan lebar / Let the width = x cm
(24 + 2x)(16 + 2x) = (24 × 16) + 756 x
(24 × 16) + 48x + 32x + 4x = (24 × 16) + 756

4x² + 80x – 756 = 0
x² + 20x – 189 = 0 x 16 x 16 + 2x
( – 7)(x + 27) = 0

x = 7 cm x
x = –27 (Abaikan / Ignore) 24 + 2x
Maka, lebar bingkai ialah 7 cm.
Thus, the width of the frame is 7 cm.

2. Bernice berhasrat untuk berbasikal dengan kelajuan tetap (3p + 6) km/j dalam masa (p + 4) jam dengan
jarak (160 + 11p) km bersama rakan-rakannya. Dia berhasrat untuk menyelesaikan perjalanannya dalam masa
12 jam termasuk waktu rehat selama 2 jam. Adakah kemungkinan hasratnya itu akan tercapai?
Bernice intends to cycle with a constant speed of (3p + 6) km/h in (p + 4) hours for a distance of (160 + 11p) km with his friends. He intends
to accomplish his journey in 12 hours including 2 hours of resting time. Is it possible for him to achieve the mission. KBAT Menganalisis
