Soon, series of hiking plans followed from the lowest hill around 500-meter to 1200-meter
above the sea level was made involving the Kerachut Beach Treks (Pulau Pinang), Gunung
Ledang (Johor), Gunung Jerai (Kedah -twice), Gunung Baling (Kedah), Gunung Pulai (Kedah)
and Penang Hill (Penang -trice). The hiking group ranges from just two members up to thirty-
two in total, and we marched proudly from one hill and mountains to the other! One great
lesson learnt! Never judge a mountain by its height because size can really be deceiving!
Gunung Pulai was a strict-moderator! With only 620 meters in height, it literally stole nearly
nine hours of our time but also our strength! Not to mention torn pants and gloves, bruises all
over our bodies, hunger and thirst and donating blood to lynches (pacat)! Clueless until today,
how-on-the-earth the expected four-hour hiking turned out to be nine!
