3 Addressing Schemes
The challenge when billion of ‘Things’ are connected is how to uniquely identify
them as part of IoT. The increment of networks and devices for this IoT
implementation should not being affected the performance of network, functioning
of the device, reliability of the data over network and effectiveness of the devices.
Gubbi et al. (2016) has highlighted several critical features for creating the unique
address, which are uniqueness, reliability, persistence and scalability. The current
IPV6 capable to identified location geographically but not individually. Meanwhile,
TCP/IP would take care the data traffic ubiquitously and relentlessly, anyhow the
bottleneck at the interface between gateway and wireless sensor are mandatory.
Furthermore, scalability of device address of existing network must be sustainable.
Hence, Uniform Resource Name (URN) systems is fundamental solution for
addressing devices issues in developing process of IoT. The need of a layer to
address sensor devices by the relevant gateway. As proposed by Gubbi et al. (2016),
at the node level each sensor will have an URN for each node to be addressed by
the gateway. Thus, the entire network form connectivity from users (high-level) to
sensor (low-level) is addressable (through URN), accessible through URL
(Uniform Resource Location) and controllable through URC (Meta-data for
information).
4 Cloud Data Storage and Analytic
The requirement for virtual resources utilization, ubiquitous and storage capacity of
IoT has made the cloud data storage is one of the crucial elements. The data has to
be stored centralised, real-time and manage intelligently for smart monitoring and
actuation. Integration of AI elements will accommodate this storage with
automation decision making and deliver accurate data analysis. Further,
sophisticated cloud computing is integrated with distributed management database
system for reliable and efficient storage management.
Visualization
5 Electronic visual computer display is the visible and tangible part of the IoT system
that allow interaction between user and the environment. User easily attract to well-
design and intuitive interface such as touch-screen technology, smart tablets and
phone. Latest technology of 2D and 3D are much more interesting prospect to bring
analytical visualization into real and in-depth format.
