Entry Requirements
Minimum of Grade B at IGCSE Business Studies (if taken), English Language / Literature
and Mathematics.
Course Outline
AS and A2 Level
The AS Level is a one year and the A2 Level is a two year course. Both are a useful introduction to the world
of business for pupils planning to enter professions in banking, accounting, management services, personnel
and so forth. Pupils must achieve at least a grade D at AS Level to progress to the A2 course. The pupil must
also demonstrate hard work during the course of the year to progress to the A2 course.
The specifications cover the following topics:
• Business and the environment
• Marketing
• People in organisations
• Operations management
• Business accounting and finance
• Business decision making
Assessment
AS Level
Paper 1 Short Answer and Essay 1 hour 15 minutes
Paper 2 Data Response 1 hour 30 minutes
A2 Level
Paper 3 Case Study and Essay 3 hours
