1. Production, Location and Change – Agricultural systems and food production, the Management of agri-
cultural change, Manufacturing and related service industry and the Management of industrial change.

2. Environmental Management – Sustainable energy supplies, the Management of energy supplies, Envi-
ronmental degradation and the Management of a degraded environment.

3. Global Interdependence – Trade flows and trading patterns, the Management of international trade, the
Development of international tourism and the Management of tourist destination.

4. Economic Transition – National development, the Globalisation of industrial activity, Regional develop-
ment and the Management of development.

Assessment
Both AS and A2 are tested by written exam.

AS – Paper 1 Physical Geography and Paper 2 Human Geography
Each paper is 1hour 30 minutes
Section A: Answer all questions
Section B: Answer 1 out of 3 questions.

A2 - Paper 3 Physical Geography and Paper 4 Human Geography
Each paper is 1hour 30 minutes
For each paper answer 2 questions on 2 different topics.

How does Geography help me for ‘Beyond 18’?

Geography was one of the most popular A Level subjects in 2019 in the UK. Employers and universities
value the broad range of transferable skills that Geography delivers. Geography fits neatly with science,
arts and humanities, and geographers also tend to have very good IT skills. An A Level in Geography is
excellent preparation for a career in planning; resource and countryside management; tourism and recre-
ation; environmental management and development. Many geographers also move into general manage-
ment careers or branch out into journalism.
