Non-finite Verb

 A verb that never changes its form to agree with tense,
voice, or subject.

 Has 3 forma : 1) participle 2) gerund 3) infinitive

Non-finite verb (กริยาไม่แท้) คือ กริยาที่จะไม่ผันตาม tense,

subject, หรือ voice และจะท าหน้าที่อย่างอื่นในประโยค จะไม่ท าหน้าที่
เป็นกริยา

กริยาไม่แท้ในภาษาอังกฤษจะมี 3 ประเภท คือ

Gerund คือ กริยาที่เติม ing (Ving) ท าหน้าที่เป็นค านามในประโยค เช่น

 Smoking isn’t allowed here.

 I try to avoid meeting him.

Infinitive คือ กริยารูปธรรมดาที่ตามหลัง to ท าหน้าที่เป็นค านามในประโยค

เช่น
 The best way to live happily in the society is to be open-

minded.

 To love is to risk.

Participle คือกริยาที่เติม –ed หรือเป็นกริยาช่อง 3 ท าหน้าที่เป็นเหมือน

ค าคุณศัพท์คือขยายประธานในประโยค เช่น

 Let a sleeping dog lie.
อย่าแกว่งเท้าหาเสี้ยน
