Radiation Protection
6.1 Introduction
Before detailing in a aspect of protection of personal
from ionizing radiation hazard, one should be see the
important to realize on the how the radiation is mea-
sured and quantified. Hence, the measurement and
quantification of radiation as also known as dosimetry
is discussed first. The ultimate aim of radiation protec-
tion is to reduce radiation dose by the personal as low
as possible.
In this case, the knowledge about dosimentry is re-
quired. There are two condition should be considered
when discussed about dosimetry. First is the knowl-
edge about how much radiation is produce by radioac-
tive materials or any machines that can emit ionizing
