6. Inability of the lungs to expand (eg, extensive atelectasis, mesothelioma)
7. Decreased or blocked lymphatic drainage, including obstruction or rupture of
the thoracic duct (eg, malignancy, trauma)
8. Increase in fluid in the peritoneal cavity, transfer of fluid past the diaphragm
through the lymphatic ducts (eg, hepatic cirrhosis, peritoneal dialysis)
9. Movement of fluid from pulmonary edema past the visceral pleura
