NEBULIZER

Attach tubing to the bottom of the nebulizer cup and

attach the other end to the power source (air compressor or wall oxygen).
Instruct patient place mouthpiece in mouth and close lips around the mouthpiece

tightly or place the mask over patient's face and turn on a nebulizer.
12. Instruct patient to breathe in and out slowly and deeply through mouthpiece/mask.
13. Turn off air compressor or wall oxygen when the nebulizer cup is empty
14. Detach the tubing from the compressor and the nebulizer cup
15. Make patient comfortable
16. Assess patient for results or adverse effects from treatment
17. Document and report
