VEGETABLE BEEF SOUP



        From the Kitchen of Minette Molter (Chelsea’s Great Grandmother)




        Ingredients:
        1 pkg. hamburger (1 lb)

        1 pkg stew meat

        3 cans mixed vegetables (do not drain)
        Large jug V8 cocktail juice

        1 quart water

        ¼ head of cabbage
        ¼ cup rice or barley

        1 tsp. thyme

        1 tsp. oregano
        Dash of red pepper




























        Directions:
        Boil the hamburger and beef in a quart

        of water

        Add salt and pepper and boil until the meat is tender
        Dump vegetables, rice/barley, and cabbage into the meat mixture

        Add thyme, oregano, and red papper
        Add V8 cocktail juice

        Bring to a boil and simmer for one hour






        Notes: I really like using the Spicy V8 juice for more of a kick
