APPLESAUCE COOKIES
From the kitchen of Ruth Brown (Granny of Ashton Stowell)
Ingredients:
¾ shortening
1 c brown sugar (packed)
1 egg
1 c applesauce
2.25 c flour
¾ tsp cinnamon
¼ tsp cloves
½ tsp salt
½ tsp baking soda
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease cookie sheet. Mix shortening, brown sugar and egg
together well in large mixing bowl. Add in remaining ingredients and mix well. Place
spoonful’s of batter on greased cookie sheet. Bake 10-12 minutes.
