from Mayor of Laredo, Tx. E.U.A.
he 2020 edition of the Binational Socioeconomic Handbook “Laredos
Region” is proudly released to you with the joint effort between the
Government of the city of Laredo, Texas, Laredo Economic Development
TCorporation, Laredo Chamber of Commerce and Texas A&M University
through the Institute for Competitiveness and Foreign Trade of Nuevo Laredo
(ICCE).
As sister cities, Laredo, Texas and Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, continue promoting
unity in order to advance as the most important Logistics and Customs Region
of America.
We affirm our solid commitment to boost commerce, tourism and port
infrastructure to the benefit of International Trade, by requesting the necessary
funds to finalize projects that will keep us being the most important land Port
of the United States. Laredo, Texas continues being on the second place from all
customs ports in United States, with $231.58 thousand million dollars annually,
which is equivalent to 5.6% of international trade corresponding to 2019. We
continue innovating and developing plans in our port in a significant way in
order to compete into the markets of Central America, South America and
Asia.
There are many aspects that we consider essential to increase the
development of “The Two Laredos”, such as modernity, competitiveness,
innovation, efficiency, industry diversity and infrastructure improvement.
In addition, we are constantly seeking to increase mobility between our
residents and entrepreneurs, allowing a direct and fast connection with
other cities of our state and nationwide.
The government of Laredo, Texas, receives with open arms
entrepreneurs, investors and tourists, always providing the best service
and attention.
