Government of Nuevo Laredo and the Institute for Competitiveness and Foreign Trade (ICCE), for carrying out this
extraordinary consultation tool that empowers this important Region to global level.

2020 starts with great expectations and a new decade begins with it, which in its early years shows the beginning
of a new dawn for the Two Laredos. After a disputed process and a period of great uncertainty, the senate of United
States approved the trade agreement T-MEC between USA, Mexico and Canada.

The treaty guarantees Competitiveness in International Trade, in which this “Laredos Region” plays an essential
role as the “backbone” of America, giving the green light to new investments. Laredo, Texas and Nuevo Laredo,
Tamaulipas, undoubtedly assure their position as the most important trading port.

As a representative body of the joint commerce of Laredo, Tx., we are honored to have the opportunity of joining
forces with our friends from ICCE of Nuevo Laredo in preparing the 2020 Binational Socioeconomic Handbook in
this significant time for both nations. The Chamber of Commerce of Laredo, Tx., is pleased to participate in this
edition, which one more time exemplifies the commercial and socioeconomic ties that join these two sister cities.

The Binational Socioeconomic Handbook 2020 has important relevance as a vital consultation tool for this
