Exemptions - there are a number instances where contributions need not be
made for an employee, as follows:
To setup Standards Development Levy on your payroll go to the
· if the employee is employed by the state Transaction Codes section of this manual.
· if the employee is employed for domestic service, e.g. in a private house
· if the employee has a remuneration less than the prescribed amount
· if the employee is employee by a welfare institution, charity organization,
orphanage, Red Cross, SPCA, creches or nursery
· if the employee is employed by an agricultural, motor, horse or dog show
Deductions - the contribution amount is based on the total wage bill for 6
months. The wage bill includes salaries and wages, cash in lieu (CILL),
any bonuses, all allowances (cost of living, housing etc), leave pay,
commissions and the value of any free food, electricity or rent paid on
behalf of the employee. The contribution percentage is 0.15% of the total
wage bill for the 6 months.
Belina Payroll can be setup to process this deduction every period. The
payment can then be computed by printing a report for the 6 month period
involved.
