                                                              In this workshop, we will be inviting both new teachers

                                                              and seasoned teachers in secondary schools and having
                                                              them discuss common myths that surround educators of
                                                              Latinx and Black Youth. We will examine common myths
                                                              that perpetuate the deficit models of thinking that hinder
                                                              progress for students of color in urban education. We will
                                                              be capturing why some of these myths may be thought of
                                                              us as true and not true.
