F or Elle Erato ’21, participating in extracurricular
activities not only provided her an opportunity to
showcase her talents on stage and compete in a sport
she loves, but her involvement outside the classroom
helped her to develop confidence, find her voice,
develop leadership skills and give back to others.
“Had I not participated in a variety of extracurricular
activities, I would not be the student I am today,”
says Elle. “Participating in drama has given me the
confidence to stand up for what I believe in, just as I
stand proudly on stage. Cross Country has taught me
so much about perseverance and serving as a team
captain helped me grow as a leader.”
“I NEEDED DRAMA TO GROW IN
CONFIDENCE AND SPORTS TO LEARN THE
IMPORTANCE OF DRIVE AND LEADERSHIP
– SKILLS I NOW USE AS A PEER MENTOR
AND MEMBER OF THE INCLUSIVENESS
TEAM TO HELP OTHER STUDENTS FEEL AS
WELCOME AS I DID ON MY FIRST DAY AS A
FRESHMAN.” – ELLE ERATO, ’21
