2019-2020 Annual Report INTERNSHIP PROVIDED
LESSONS FOR LIFE
Valentina Medrano is a member of the CMH
Class of 2020, who graduated from high
school and started college in the midst of a
global pandemic. Resilience, perseverance and
the ability to adapt were demanded.
“Nothing can really prepare you for college
life during a pandemic, but CMH gave me a
solid foundation,” Valentina said. She credits her
CMH teachers, a rigorous curriculum and her
internship at InPro Architectural Products for
providing her with the confidence and skills she
needed to succeed during her first semester at
Marquette University.
“I was surrounded by an incredible team
of mentors at InPro who taught me critical
skills like communication, professionalism and
adaptability. The internship program allowed me
to gain a foothold in the real world.”
Valentina was one of 11 CMH students
who participated in CMH’s pilot internship
program. The experience, she said, equipped
her with skills that will enable her to face the
uncertainties of life with confidence.
“I AM THE FIRST IN MY FAMILY TO
GO TO COLLEGE. IT MEANS A
GREAT DEAL BECAUSE MY
PARENTS HAVE WORKED
TREMENDOUSLY HARD TO GET ME
A GOOD EDUCATION. THANKS TO
CMH AND INPRO, I HAVE THE
SKILLS TO SUCCEED. I WAS
GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY
OF A LIFETIME.”
