The speaker suggested the students
to cultivate the habit of reading and to
develop strong communication skills
before getting into jobs.
He mentioned that both unemployment
and under employment are global
phenomenon and Kerala is not an
exception. He conveyed that curriculum
developers should concentrate on
developing a strong foundation in the
undergraduate programme which
enables the students to adapt to the
changing scenarios rather than pure
industry oriented one. Regarding the
complaints of some industries that
B Tech holders are unemployable
as a fresher, he suggested that the
industries must train the freshers after
recruiting. He said that discipline is the
most required character in an individual
and advised the students to pursue
post-graduation according to their
interests and passion. Students freely
interacted with the learned guest and
it was a truly memorable evening. Prof
Sunitha, and Prof. Bijuna presented
mementos to Dr. Sivaji Chakravorty on
behalf of the organisers.
