The Museum of the Geological Studies Unit is a unique repository of terrestrial Mesozoic
vertebrates. Since inception, the holotype and paratype specimens present in the Geology
Museum have attracted a galaxy of national and international experts. The specimens kept at
the Museum of GSU are very rare, delicate, fragile and irreplaceable. The present project is
for annual maintenance and upkeep of the Geology Museum, laboratory and the repository.
The fossils displayed in the Museum need regular maintenance including preparation, lacquer
coating and reshuffling etc. The Museum also requires fresh cataloguing of the fossils.

A repository and a laboratory are also attached with the Museum. Restoration works, fossil
preparation and systematic storage of the specimens, are the activities carried out in the
laboratory. Hence the Laboratory and the repository should also be maintained properly.
